Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday and New Year's!! It was definitely different for us this year, living at Kenny's parent's home! We are looking to be in our new place by mid-February. Yaaa!!!
I thought I would share with you a calendar that I made for my mother-in-law this year at Christmas. I have made her one every year for about 10 years. This one is a Stampin' Up! calendar, but they no longer make these. These calendars have undated calendar grids for each of the 12 months. I just use my alphabet stamps to stamp the months in and hand write the days of the month. I have always wanted to do a class for these, but don't seem to get my calendar done in advance…it's usually at 4am Christmas Eve before it's finished! I have kept the pages fairly simple, but each with some sort of accent.
These pages are not in order as I can't seem to figure out how to display them on my blog in order. The first page is a red, black and white theme. I used the Defining Alphabet stamp set along with the Define Your Life set.and the Night and Day specialty paper from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.
The second page shown (this was the first page in the calendar) is on Sahara Sand cardstock. I used the "scroll" stamp from Baroque Motifs in Sahara Sand ink to stamp the background. The tag is stamped with "family" from Fundamental Phrases in Basic Black ink. I used Silver Hodgepodge to frame the word "family".
The third page is using Bordering Blue and Night of Navy colours. I stamped the floral piece from the Central Park stamp set in Bordering Blue directly onto the page for a tone on tone effect. The ribbon is the White Organza Ribbon with a Rhinestone Brad in the center. The organza ribbon is definitely one of my favourites!! "Priceless" (from the stamp set Priceless) is stamped in Night of Navy ink onto a white Large Oval and layered with the Oval Scallop.
