Valentine’s Project

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

This is the project we did at our group meeting last night.  This was made from the Two-Tags die from the Big Shot.  Of course, no project is complete without chocolate!!  These are really simple to make and would make great Valentine's gifts for teachers, school friends or your sweetheart!  To make these, you would need to die cut 2 tags for each person.

What to order to make these…

I (Heart) Hearts  117010 (wood mounted)  $35.95
Sending Love Specialty paper  117153  $15.95
Small Heart Punch  117193  $8.50
Full Heart Punch  113693  $22.95
Two Tags die (for the big shot)115954  $29.95
Pretty In Pink grosgrain ribbon  109032  $7.50
I also used dimentionals, very vanilla, real red & pretty in pink cardstock.

All of these can be ordered through the online shopping on my blog.  Order $65 or more and choose a free item from the sale-a-bration catalogue.

Calendar

This, of course, is December's page.  This layout is on the gorgeous Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer paper from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  You can't get the full effect of this paper, but it does shimmer.  The ornaments are stamped in Real Red and Garden Green Craft ink and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  I used the Delighful Decorations stamp set and punched them out with the coordinating Ornament Punch.  I also used the Silver Cord to "hang" them.  The items in the Holiday Mini are only available until January 4th.december,08 020

This layout is on Going Grey cardstock.  The background is stamped with the "swirls" from Priceless in Going Grey ink.  The accent colours are Brilliant Blue and Crushed Curry.  The animal accents are from Fox & Friends (Occasions Mini Catalogue) and Look Who's Turning.  I love the Fox & Friends set!  You probably can't tell, but I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on each of the animals.  As I said, i kept the layouts very simple and used accents only to fill in empty spaces.december,08 015

2010 Calendar

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Happy New Year!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday and New Year's!!  It was definitely different for us this year, living at Kenny's parent's home! We are looking to be in our new place by mid-February.  Yaaa!!!

I thought I would share with you a calendar that I made for my mother-in-law this year at Christmas.  I have made her one every year for about 10 years.  This one is a Stampin' Up! calendar, but they no longer make these.  These calendars have undated calendar grids for each of the 12 months.  I just use my alphabet stamps to stamp the months in and hand write the days of the month.  I have always wanted to do a class for these, but don't seem to get my calendar done in advance…it's usually at 4am Christmas Eve before it's finished!  I have kept the pages fairly simple, but each with some sort of accent.

These pages are not in order as I can't seem to figure out how to display them on my blog in order.  The first page is a red, black and white theme.  I used the Defining Alphabet stamp set along with the Define Your Life set.and the Night and Day specialty paper from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.

The second page shown (this was the first page in the calendar) is on Sahara Sand cardstock.  I used the "scroll" stamp from Baroque Motifs in Sahara Sand ink to stamp the background. The tag is stamped with "family" from Fundamental Phrases in Basic Black ink.  I used Silver Hodgepodge to frame the word "family".

The third page is using Bordering Blue and Night of Navy colours.  I stamped the floral piece from the Central Park stamp set in Bordering Blue directly onto the page for a tone on tone effect.  The ribbon is the White Organza Ribbon with a Rhinestone Brad in the center.  The organza ribbon is definitely one of my favourites!!  "Priceless" (from the stamp set Priceless) is stamped in Night of Navy ink onto a white Large Oval and layered with the Oval Scallop.
